West Pokot County is among the forty seven counties in Kenya under the new dispensation of county governments. The county has a population of 512,690 (2009 census) and an area of 8,418.2 km²

It is located in the Rift Valley and constitutes 3 constituencies (Kacheliba, Kapenguria and Sigor).
